CSC Museum Project
Over the past number of years, the Correctional Service of Canada, in cooperation
with Public works and Government Services Canada, has been carrying out a restoration of
the former Warden's residence at Kingston Penitentiary, now home of the Correctional
Service of Canada Museum. The building dates back to 1873 and is an Italianate vernacular
limestone house.

As part of this restoration, we have found the need for a skilled painter with the ability
to recreate faux finishes (particularly false graining). We feel very fortunate to have
located Robert Ireland, and have been exceedingly pleased and impressed with his personal
interest and skill in recreating authentic faux finishes in keeping with traditional
techniques. I have personally viewed samples of similar work by a number of painters,
and have found Robert Ireland's work to be of the highest quality.

Scott Batson
Robert is a gifted craftsman. I had the privilege of working with him recently
at my new office complex, Gardiners Financial Centre.
He is a master with a paintbrush. He is creative and innovative, but at same time,
respectful of the client's ideas and wishes. He is attentive to detail and works
tirelessly to ensure the end result is as expected

Site Manager
Fulford Place
Brockville, Ontario
As the site manager of Fulford Place Musuem in Brockville, I had the
occasion to work with Robert Ireland. Fulford Place Museum is a 20,000 sq ft Edwardian
Mansion located in Brockville. It features restored interpreted spaces, administrative
offices, function rooms, a tearoom, sweeping verandas and a terrazzo patio.

Mr. Ireland has been responsible for painting various areas of the estate, booth interior and exterior areas
on a contract basis. Mr. Ireland has been thorough and conscientious in all his dealings
at Fulford Place and respected the historic integrity of the site while working to
deadlines imposed as a result of programming needs
I would recommend Mr Ireland in the execution of any painting requirements in
association with historic sites similar to Fulfard Place
